Getting on LAST nerves....................

I've been having some problems with MAP Sensor codes. I will throw a MAP sensor code EVERY FUCKING time I have some accessories on (head lights mainly) while boosting. I've noticed when the accessories are on AND while in boost, the A/F gauge starts reading from full green to about halfway thru stoich then I throw the MAP sensor code...... If I turn my lights off, ALL is good!?!?!?!?

I'm about to give up on tis whole "boost" thing all in all [img]frown.gif[/img]

*Note: I have replaced the MAP sensor, JRCivic has re-ground the BTC, map mod and vpac. I have even bought a new battery thinking my old one was not holding the power. I'm running out of solutions guys [img]frown.gif[/img]

Anybody here have any info that might help me????

Have you checked your alternator? Weird electrical problems often warrant a check on the alternator. I wouldnt make the alternator my first bet, but i'd certainly give it the few minutes necessary to check it out.

oh yeah, check your relays also. here's why: it's possible (not likely mind you, but possible) for a relay to get "sticky". if thats the case your electrical system might be sagging a bit with the accessories online and the relay might not be seeing a high enough threshold voltage to switch. just an "outside the box" thought for you.

also: put a voltmeter on your battery terminals. start the car. what's the average system voltage? turn your lights, etc, etc on. Whats the average voltage now? I'd keep an eye out for things that pull your system below 12v. With so many devices in the car designed for 12v operating voltage some weird things can happen when you drop below that.

I'd still take a look at the alternator.

Let me know what you discover. I'm chasing an oddball issue myself, although of a totally different nature so I can understand the frustration.

Hmmmmm, I've been meaning to check the alternator and I'll look into the relays soon.


BTW, your talking about the OEM relays under the dash right???

Actually.. I think he might be referring to the JR relay that's spliced into your IAT wires. I think maybe into your MAP wires too, but I'm not sure.

I was referring primarily to the JR relays, as well as the TPS trick relay if you have it installed. If those appear okay, it might not hurt to check elsewhere.

Actually that makes me think..... I should check my own relays. [img]wink.gif[/img]
